We explored items from their City Menu and were genuinely impressed by the quality and taste of every dish. Here’s what we tried: • Madras Filter Coffee • Jigarthanda • Nimbu Soda • Milagai Bajji • Aloo Tikki Chaat • Chilli Idly • Veg Manchurian (Semi-gravy) • Szechuan Vegetable Dosa • Andhra Spicy Gongura Masala Dosa • Executive Thali • Puran Poli From spicy, tangy street-style favorites to comforting thali goodness, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Had an amazing experience at Anandam Bhavan, CBD Melbourne. We tried the special thali and it was honestly next level — super tasty with unlimited refills, which made it even better 😍. My friends ordered the masala dosa, and that was also very good — perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Special shoutout to Shritha, the staff member who served us. She was very attentive, polite, and made sure we were comfortable throughout. Great food and great service — will definitely be back!

From the very first bite, it’s clear that this restaurant stays true to traditional flavours while delivering consistency, quality, and comfort in every dish. The food is beautifully balanced, deeply aromatic, and packed with flavour—the kind that keeps you coming back for more. Every time I’m in Melbourne, Ananda Bhavan is a non-negotiable stop. It is, without doubt, one of the best and most authentic South Indian restaurants in Melbourne. A special mention to Jazz, Sri, Tejasvi and their entire team for their warm hospitality and genuine passion for food. Their attention to detail and welcoming service elevate the entire dining experience ❤️ I’ve already visited twice and will absolutely be returning again very soon. My personal standout? The South Indian Weekend Thali 😍 — a generous, thoughtfully curated spread that showcases the soul of South Indian cooking at its finest ❤️ If you love South Indian food, this is a place you simply must try.

The diverse menu showcases the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine. The restaurant's inviting atmosphere enhances the overall dining experience. From the appetizers to the main courses, each plate was a testament to the chef's skill. The presentation of the food was visually appealing, adding to the enjoyment. The service provided was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome. Without a doubt, the dahi puri was the absolute best we have ever tasted.

Amazing food and service. People won’t usually wander down to this part of town, but those who discover this hidden gem are bound to love it. I ordered the Sri Ananda thali which consisted of so much food that I almost had to crawl out of the restaurant. Everything is refillable too so you can get seconds of anything you like. The place is bright and clean and I enjoyed the overall ambience. Highly recommended.
