If you’re in Melbourne and craving authentic South Indian flavours, Maaplas is definitely one to bookmark! We started with the crispy potato bajji and golden punugulu — perfectly crunchy and so satisfying. The mini sambar idlies were soft, fluffy, and soaked beautifully in rich, flavourful sambar (comfort in every bite!). The chilli onion rava dosa was beautifully crisp with generous toppings, and the paneer 65 had that bold, spicy kick that keeps you going back for more. Everything tasted fresh, well-balanced, and made with care. As content creators, we also loved how vibrant and inviting the dishes looked — from the golden dosas to the colourful chutneys. The presentation made it even more enjoyable to capture and share. The space has a simple, welcoming vibe — perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. Definitely a hidden gem in Melbourne for anyone who loves authentic South Indian food. We’ll be back for sure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Maplaass is amazing Indian vegetarian restaurant in Clayton. I had tried lot of food here which was fantastic. The customer service is amazing that makes me to come to the restaurant. My favourite is masala dosa. Which is crispy and fresh and is also served with authentic chutneys.

First time trying this new southern Indian spot and it didn’t disappoint. The upma was so great. I also loved the pizza uttapam, rava dosa and kadak chai. You order via a tablet but staff were happy to talk through the menu. Prices were reasonable.

I’m honestly blown away. I ordered the Mysore Dosa and Paneer 65, and hands down, this was one of the best dosas I’ve ever had in Melbourne. The dosa was perfect, but the real game was in sambar and chutney bro, genuinely the best I’ve ever had here. I’ve never tasted sambar and chutney this good anywhere else in Melbourne. The Paneer 65 was super crispy, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. What amazed me even more was the price.... brooo both dishes for under $16, and I was completely full. Super affordable, extremely pocket-friendly, and perfect for students. Thing is I went there pretty late at the closing time, yet the polite manager and staff still let me place my order and handed over my takeaway. I just loved it all! Everything was spot on. I’d give this place 100/10 without hesitation. A must-visit if you love authentic south food guysss! (Visited on 18th Jan 2026)
